About Parikia

Parikia, the name of the town in Paros has a network of old and attractive neighbourhoods. It is a pleasure to walk around and discover new neighbourhoods with little kittens playing and traditional restaurants and tavernas on every corner. There is nothing here to remind you about the stressful daily life you have back home. If you get tired of the quiet neighbourhoods just sit down by the beach promenade and watch the people. Here you will always find some hustle and bustle.

Market street is not straight, but meanders around with corners. It is nearly all shops with a few cafes. It is the oldest part of the town. The seafront is only about 1/2 block to the left and the Promenade which is jammed packed in August is open from 10 in the morning until past midnight! Again, it takes on an entirely different atmosphere in the night with all the lights. Some very nice restaurants with beautiful courtyard tables also are here. This is a far cry from the hustle and bustle of the town’s port!

About Paros Island

Paros is a wonderful island with a chance to experience both urban life and experience nature. The location and its frequent ferry service to Piraeus makes it a good starting point or a good end for your island hopping. You can not fail to be touched watching the sun go down from a local taverna whilst sat on the beach promenade.

Paros, the fourth largest island in the Cyclades, is situated near the geographical centre of these islands. It covers an area of 186,43sq km and has a coastal perimeter of about 120 miles. The highest mountainous terrain is the Prophet Ilias (770 m). Paros is 92 nautical miles from Piraeus and has frequent ferry-boat connections. During the summer season there are also connections between Paros and Rafina and other islands of the Aegean Sea. Flight connections exist from Athens by 50 seats. The Airport is in Alyki, 9km from Parikia. Every moment of the year Paros is ready to fulfill the dreams of every visitor to this paradise island. Mild winters with few rains, calm sea and the characteristic “Meltemi”, north wind that blows during summer months and moderate the heat. The main attraction that Paros has to offer is the unbounded physical beauty of its coastline, unique villages and magnificent beaches.
